Two weeks ago, I didn’t know how to do either of them.
And now I do.
In my continued effort to burn new neural pathways in my brain and ward off future senility, I like to do things that mystify me.
So when I posted on Facebook that I didn’t know where to buy fondant for the birthday cake my son was begging me to make and my friend Laura said, “BUY fondant?? MAKE fondant!! SUPER EASY!!”, I couldn’t resist.
Because I knew it was going to be SO NOT SUPER EASY.
Eight super-not-easy hours later, here is my masterpiece.
A Minecraft cake for my boy. And a couple of new neural pathways burned in the pastry-making area of my brain.
But this was nothing compared to the exceptionally curvy learning curve of buying a DSLR camera, learning how to do 3-point lighting and editing my own comedy short for TV. Co-written with the best comedy mind in the business, Wendi Aarons, this started running on Nickelodeon a few nights ago. I hope you enjoy the creation that nearly started a forest fire in my gray matter.
