I am writing, dear friends, from Koontz Lake, Indiana–a tiny town that houses an enormous spirit in the person of Mama Rose. My sister and I surprised her with a visit for her 79th birthday and she was extremely happy, even though I arrived with a case of stomach flu and spent the first night yakking in her bathroom. But why tell you about it when you can see it for yourselves? The surprise part, not the puke part.
