There are no words.
But still, we must try.
We must try to share your burden. That is impossible, of course. It would be the gravest of insults to say we know how you feel, to say how much we are suffering as well, to even try to offer words of comfort and peace.
But still, we must try.
In Romans 12:15 God commands us “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”
And so we mourn with you. If we could take away even a fragment of your pain, take it on ourselves, spread it out amongst us so that it wasn’t so overwhelming for you, I know so many of us that would. Alexandra would. Kelcey would. Anna would. Liz would. And so many others, so many who are pouring out tears and words and love and monetary contributions and demands for gun control. All of us, all, trying to do something, trying to share in your pain so that it does not consume you.
I’ve cried and prayed all day yesterday and all day today. And my prayer for you is that you will not be overcome by despair. Evil has robbed you of what you hold most dear and I can only pray that it will have stopped its destruction there. I pray that God will take your shattered hearts in his hands for safekeeping until you can feel hope once more. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
None of my words even come close to expressing my sorrow for you.
But I had to try.

Thank you Shari. And yes, I have to try too.
Oh, Dusty, we have to try. Because when you have no idea what to do, when you don’t know where to go, what to think…you have to see these angels, at rest, and pray for strength for those of us left on earth.
This needs to change, Dusty, this anger and hatred and wanting to destroy, kill, hurt…has to change.
The answer can begin with more love, more acceptance, more kindness.
xo
Amen to that, Shari.
Amen, and amen.
To not do anything or say anything or write anything would seem too horrible. Love you, Dusty.
What a beautiful post Shari. I so wish we could share the burden of their pain.
Thank you for your words. I have none.
Stayed home all day yesterday. I just couldn’t get out. But I did today and am processing this.
God bless you, Carlito, Roselita, Miguel, Chandelier Jackson and Schilling!!

I JUST CAN’T STOP CRYING. AT MY AGE OF ALMOST 80 I HAVE SEEN SO MUCH SORROW AND THIS IS THE ULTIMATE. THEY ARE JUST BABIES. GOD IS CRYING ALONG WITH US. HE GAVE US FREE WILL BUT NOT TO DO HARM WITH IT. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH ALL. YOU HAVE WRITTEN A BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE SHARI. MAY GOD BLESS US ALL AND MOST OF ALL THE PEOPLE OF THIS TRAGEDY.
LOLVE TO ALL
