The Road Song, courtesy of Spongebob and yours truly.

You all know of my deep and abiding affection for Spongebob.

Oh, you don't?

Okay, do you even read this blog? Or only the Cliff's Notes? Naughty.

There are many reasons I love that porous and xanthic manchild. One is that my 7-year old daughter does a dead-on imitation of Sandy Cheeks the Squirrel and to hear her sing "The Texas Song" is an exercise in twangy adorableness.

But on our roadtrip back from Florida to New Jersey, I found another reason to love He of The Square Trousers.

It's called "The Road Song".

I will warn you that this video was recorded in Hour 9 and 1/2 of a supposed 7-hour driving stretch. I seem to recall putting a bit of make-up on prior to the odyssey, but it melted into oblivion somewhere in Africa-hot South Carolina. So be kind.

And if my sweaty operatic performance just leaves you achin' for more Dusty, I'm on Aiming Low today with a very special rant, It's So Easy, It's EZ. Come on over! It's EZ!

Oh, I wish I could tell you how much I love this. My favorite is the “Fun Song.” Can I request a cover? You’re beautiful, and the kids are beyond cute!!

Glad you enjoyed it, Chalup. We’re going to pull a Von Trapp Family Singers and drive all over Germany, evading Nazis.

It seems as if you’ve entered a higher realm of existence.
Where doth thou’s brain cells dwellest now? Because it’s like Timothy Leary and the Newly Opened Doors of Perception.
Adorable, even with the look of “can’t beat ‘em join ‘em look” upon your pretty face.

Thank you, ladies. I was, indeed, in a higher realm of existence. One called “desperation”.
